Sometimes you have to act like a pro to get somewhere–even if you’re still feeling like a fledgling beginner.
Find out-in the 7 steps below-how to become a Top-Tier Josephine when you might be feeling more of a Newbie Nellie.
1) Old Reliable
Be consistent and dependable. For example, if you’re a blogger and tell people that you’ll be posting 3X/wk., then stick to that. That doesn’t mean you can’t change your mind. Just make sure it’s clear to your reader who depends your Words of Wisdom delivered to her Inbox every Mon-Wed-Fri.
2) Honesty Is The Best Policy
While your client needn’t be aware of all your comings and goings, it’s only natural to feel suspect when it’s not clear where you’re coming from.
If you’re an affiliate for a product or program-for instance-say so! Nobody likes to be “sold to”. People will appreciate your honesty and, in turn, will be more likely to become your customer.
3) Quality Over Quantity
Reputation is everything. If you’re looking for a quick buck you’ll be found out like a Red coat in a sea of black ones.
As long as you’re delivering quality content or products you’ll be receiving happy customers who will spread your good name all over town.
4) Stamp Of Approval
Why do you think the Peoples Choice Awards is so popular? Even though that ceremony has become a long running, sponsored (since 1975) event, the concept of being nominated by a group of your peers is an attractive one.
If you can garner similar accolades you will reap the ‘Re-awards’.
5) Strive For Excellence
Although there’s no such thing as perfection, there’s no reason why you can’t reach for it!
You don’t have to be obsessive but you can be thorough and finish a project to completion delivered with attention to detail, neatness, remembering to spell-check and in a timely fashion.
6) Don’t Call Us, We’ll Call You
There’s a reason why a ‘Do Not Call’ list was invented.
Although the squeeky wheel gets the grease, you never want to appear too needy, desperate-or even worse-annoying!
On the other hand, it’s important to be doggedly faithful in establishing a ‘presence’ in order to have your customer become like a faithful puppy dog eating out of the palm of your hand!
7) Look Who’s Talking!
By following all the above guidelines, it’s only inevitable that you’ll soon be growing a loyal fan base with only positive things to say about you.
Like the old adage, “Act as if…”, the more you strive for excellence the sooner you’ll grow into the Pro you’re meant to be.
