Getting Around the Overhanging Rock of Obstacles

A voice in my head said…”Get confident in yourself”…or maybe it was, “Get confident with yourself”.  Blog post? General advice? What was the voice trying to say to me?

My astrologer, from back in the day once told me…”No, you don’t have any confidence, but you’ve gotta say to yourself, ‘Even though I’m not feeling it, but I’m gonna _______anyway!’

”Believe in yourself and all that you are. Know that there is something inside you that is greater than any obstacle.” (Christian D. Larson)

A business coach recently said that she gives herself a 10 second mantra-kind of a peptalk-before she goes on stage to speak. It’s just enough to propel her onto the stage and no one is the wiser of the butterflies in her stomach.

“Confidence is built with clarity. Confidence is built with consistent action.” Christine Kane

Sometimes the obstacle that is standing in your way is fear. Like a big, bad bear.
Remember that Bear Hunt song? “Can’t go over it, can’t go under it, can’t go around it, gotta go through it.” And the big, bad bear is scary.  But, sometimes you’ve gotta face your fears, take action, and by finding out that it’s not so bad, gain the confidence.

“Most obstacles melt away when we make up our minds to walk boldly through them.” (Orison Swett Marden)

Any performer who has ever flubbed a line or missed a step, like the pro she is, will continue like nothing ever happened and few~if any~would ever know. Or care. The play’s the thing. The end result. The big picture.

“Obstacles are things a person sees when he takes his eyes off his goal.”(E. Joseph Cossman).

Sometimes It seems like a boulder…blocking the way….impenetrable. But, the key word here is “seems”. That boulder is just an illusion, built up in our own mind.

Obstacles in a rear view mirror may appear larger than they are.”

Our imagination, like a mirror can magnify these obstacles. But, by taking the first step, then the next step, and so on and so on you will ultimately reach your goal.

“There are plenty of difficult obstacles in your path. Don’t allow yourself to be one of them.”

Sometimes we are our worst enemy. Be your own best friend. Or, find an accountability partner, or group~someone to help you along the way so you don’t always have to go it alone.  Oftentimes, someone else is able to crack that boulder of self-doubt or fuzziness about our true purpose so we can have a clearer path of the road we’re meant to take.
